We are so excited that every student in my classroom has their own iPad. Managing them has been more difficult than I anticipated. In addition to the iPad its self the children are responsible for their headphones and passwords. Each student has a manila folder that contains their personal usernames and passwords. This manila folder and hear phones are stored in a large plastic bag. In the past week we have lost a bag with passwords, a set of headphones, and an iPad. Fortunately all items have found.
Mrs. Beasley and her classed shared information about an app called Educreations. The children created an assignment in which they wrote about a desert animal and added a picture. Since Mrs. Beasley's introduction, we practiced double plus one facts by creating number sentences and pictures to go with a double plus one fact. We also wrote declarative and interrogative sentences adding pictures as well. Children are more than welcome to bring earbugs or headphones from home if they want. Please do not make a special purchase! A couple students have been using a stylys which they say helps them. Stylus would make a great stocking stuffer. I looked online and Walmart, Target, and Dollar Tree all have inexpensive stylus available. Many of them in $1.00-$5.00 range. Places like Office Depot and Best Buy have a nice selection but they ran much higher. |
